The development of Frier Vest has now moved past the start-up phase, and in this connection changes are being made to the board.
Øyvind Hasaas has been appointed as the new chairman of the board and will take over from Roy Vardheim.
Hasaas has extensive experience in management, strategy development and business development, has been head of Oslo Airport, Gardermoen and comes from the position of executive vice president for operations and infrastructure at Avinor. He has also previously been CEO of REC Solar, and has held several management positions in Norsk Hydro.
Hasaas has, among other things, been head of Hydro Porsgrunn (Herøya) when the magnesium factory was shut down in the early 2000s, and then helped create the industrial park that is today called Herøya Industripark.
In addition, Hasaas is chairman of Herøya Industripark AS, which gives him a broad insight into industrial parks and their role in promoting sustainable industrial development.
- I look forward to contributing to the further development of Frier Vest as a green and innovative industrial park. I am motivated to take on this position, and see great opportunities for synergies between Frier Vest and the industry in Greenland, says Hasaas.
Roy Vardheim resigns as chairman of the board of Frier Vest Holding AS, but continues as chairman of the board of Port of Grenland (Grenland Havn IKS), which is one of the owners of Frier Vest. The transition is a natural part of the development, as Frier Vest has now passed the initial phase where Port of Grenland has functioned as a midwife for industrial development.
Since 2020, Port of Grenland has laid the foundations for the development through the acquisition of land, the establishment of a new company structure and work with regulatory plans, as well as the start of construction work.
- Frier Vest has reached a point where the area stands strong on its own two feet, and it is the right time for me to hand over the helm to Øyvind Hasaas. With his competence and experience, I am sure that he will lead Frier Vest further into the future, says Vardheim.
Hasaas' extensive experience and knowledge of industrial parks make him a valuable resource for Frier Vest. With Hasaas as chairman of the board, Frier Vest is well positioned for further growth and development.
