Frier Vest Holding AS has appointed a new board. The change comes as the company enters a new phase focused on the further development of Frier Vest and the industrial opportunities in the area.
The new board consists of Sverre R. Kjær as Chair, Henning W. Hanevold as Deputy Chair, Merete Steinvåg Østby, Jan Morten Schjelderup Ertsaas and Kjell Skjeggerud.
Following the departure of the Managing Director, the Nomination Committee took the opportunity to look ahead and assess the composition of the board in light of the tasks and opportunities facing the company.
Emphasis was placed on forming a board with broad experience in areas including industry, business development, finance, logistics and major development projects.
– Frier Vest has come a long way, and the company is now entering a new phase. Our priority has been to form a board with experience and expertise that are relevant to the work ahead, says Roy Vardheim, Chair of the Nomination Committee.
Frier Vest offers large areas of land zoned for new industrial development, a new port terminal opening on 1 December and easy access to the E18 motorway. Together, these advantages provide a strong foundation for further industrial development. The ambition is to attract more businesses, create new jobs and contribute to increased value creation in the Grenland region.
Newly appointed Chair Sverre R. Kjær is looking forward to taking on the role.
– A strong foundation has been established at Frier Vest, and the area offers qualities that are attractive to industry. Large areas of available land, a new port terminal and good connections to the main road network give us an excellent starting point. Our task now is to build on this and turn more projects from opportunities into reality, says Kjær.
Kjær has more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive and CFO, with extensive expertise in areas including financing, corporate management, strategy and development.
Henning W. Hanevold has more than 25 years of management experience, including from the property and industrial sectors.
Merete Steinvåg Østby has experience in industry, logistics and technological development. Through her work at Yara, she also has extensive knowledge of the Grenland region.
Jan Morten Schjelderup Ertsaas is CEO of Siva and brings broad experience in industrial and business development to the board.
Kjell Skjeggerud is a civil engineer with extensive experience in industrial operations, commercial development, operations management and major development projects, including from Heidelberg Materials.
Collectively, the board has broad experience in developing and managing major companies and projects.
– I am very pleased with the composition of the board. We combine strong local ties with experience in industry, finance, business development and major projects. We will now bring this expertise together around a clear direction for Frier Vest, says Kjær.
The new board will now begin the process of recruiting a new Managing Director for Frier Vest Holding.
