Effective 1 November, Sven Ombudstvedt will assume the position of CEO of Frier Vest Holding AS. With extensive experience from industry and strategic leadership, he takes on the role with an ambition to elevate the Frier Vest project to new heights.
He succeeds acting CEO Hans Olav Storkås.
Frier Vest is entering an important phase in the development of tomorrow’s industry on the coast of Telemark in Southern Norway. The board has sought a leader with broad experience from both Norwegian and international industry, with a proven ability to lead complex processes and build strong organisations.
The choice fell on Sven Ombudstvedt — a leader with a rare combination of strategic insight, industrial experience, and a strong record of achieving results.
Ombudstvedt holds a Master’s degree in Business and Economics and has held key executive positions at companies such as Norsk Hydro and Yara International, where he served as CFO and Chief Strategy Officer. He later became CEO of Norske Skog and, in recent years, has held senior roles in Mo Industripark and Nexans.
He brings broad experience in industrial development, financing, organisational growth, and collaboration between industry and the public sector — expertise that aligns well with Frier Vest’s next phase of development.
As the new CEO, Sven Ombudstvedt says:

Hans Olav Storkås has served as acting CEO up until the appointment and will assist in the transition to ensure continuity and progress. He will continue in his role as Project Developer for Frier Vest.
Sven Ombudstvedt assumes the position on 1 November. Frier Vest Holding AS welcomes him and looks forward to strengthening the company’s position as a key player in developing the industry of the future in Norway.
